Roxio's management chose to pursue the digital music download and subscription market at the expense of Roxio's CD and DVD products, and soon acquired both Pressplay and the remains of Napster. Needing cash to keep the online music service going, Roxio sold the rest of the company to Sonic Solutions in 2004 and changed its name to Napster, Inc..
